Rene Geoffroy Champagne 1er Cru - Expression Brut $298 50% Meunier, 40% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay. Mature and fragrant, its expressive bouquet releases beautiful aromas of apple compote, ornamented with hints of vanilla. The first impression in the mouth is full of finesse, with full fruit flavors. In the finale, a superb freshness. This is ideal as an aperitif and for cocktails or with flaky pastry entrées, such as vol-au-vents. (Wine Spectator 91 Points)
Rene Geoffroy Champagne 1er Cru - Cuvée Empreinte Brut $435 On the nose, a seductive bouquet intertwining a complex range of red fruit aromas. The mouth is airy, lively and vigorous. With great freshness, it imposes rich flavours of strawberry and redcurrant, punctuated with hints of highly scented flowers like peonies. Lovely balance and persistent finale. accompaniment. This Champagne Empreinte is an outstanding ally to gastronomic cooking and goes marvelously well with expressive flavors. It harmonies to perfection with dishes such as Bresse fatted chicken with morel mushrooms, quail with grapes or loin of lamb with thyme. (Robert Parker 92 Points)
Rene Geoffroy Champagne 1er Cru - Volupté "Tête De Cuvée" $548 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir. Selected juices from the “Tête De Cuvée” produced by grapes harvested from vines more than 30 years old; again vinified entirely in oak barrels. Champagne with golden yellow tints and a fine and light foam. The nose, of white flowers, white-fleshed fruit and delicate mineral notes, expresses all the purity of this Champagne. The silky mouth, with buttery notes, reveals remarkable structure. Ideal as an aperitif, but will also be a marvelous accompaniment to delicate fish like roast line-caught sea bass or turbot, and goat’s cheese or Parmesan. The finish is long - an intense, suspended moment with a harmonious balance. (Wine Spectator 95 Points)
Rene Geoffroy Champagne 1er Cru - Cuvée Rosé de Saigné $478 100% Pinot Noir. Geoffroy is one of the few Houses that still makes its Champagne Rosé by the saignée method during the maceration of the Pinot Noir grapes. tasting notes. Ruby red tints to please the eye. The nose provides a whole bouquet of aromas. Roses, wild strawberries and raspberries combine in perfect harmony. The mouth, utterly charming, confirms the promise of the nose. The finale has sumptuous vinosity. (Robert Parker 93 Points)
Rene Geoffroy Champagne Millesime 2000 $830 30% Pinot Noir and 70% Chardonnay. The straw-gold color, with its bright glints, has a wonderful surprise in store for tasters, namely the richness of the aromas, both to the nose and on the palate. It ranges from notes of white fruit, peach and citrus fruit to stewed yellow fruit. Soft spices, such as cardomen and white pepper, join in this melody of aromas. On the palate, it reveals its fullness, gourmandize and its uninhibited tone…. The generous notes of fresh and dried fruit are softened by those of honey and colored by a hint of toast. (Robert Parker 92 Points)
