Ambassador David Mulford will discuss the evolution of global financial markets and the implications of political and regulatory responses to the global financial crisis.
Ambassador Mulford will focus on the challenges faced by the US, the implications for emerging markets, specifically India and China, and the new dimensions of problems faced by Europe and the euro.
Ambassador Mulford returned to Credit Suisse in March 2009 as Vice Chairman International. Prior to this he served as US Ambassador to India for five years. Before being nominated as the US Ambassador to India, Ambassador Mulford served as Chairman International and Member of the Executive Board of Credit Suisse, based in London. He has also held posts as the Under Secretary and Assistant Secretary of the US Treasury for International affairs from 1984 – 1992, Senior Investment Advisor to the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) from 1974 – 1983 and Head of International finance at White, Weld & Co from 1966 – 1974.
